Tips to Add Illumination into the Room

Lighting is an essential part of room design, as it affects not only how you do everyday tasks but also how you feel and it can be easy to overlook the importance of indoor lighting. Lighting is just as important as other decorative elements, as they all work together to form the complete scene because if a room have plenty of light, you can read the newspaper, make your grocery list and do your hobbies comfortably and as addition, a well-lighted room lifts the spirits but pay close attention to lighting in areas such as hallways, foyers, and stairways, for a home that is not only satisfactorily bright, but also well coordinated. Bringing more light into a room may be as simple as redecorating or purchasing new fixtures and following bellow can help you to add the light into your room.
1. Replace dark-colored drapes, which block light, with light-colored drapes. This allows natural light to flood the room. Open the blinds, or pull them up during the daytime for additional natural light.
2. Add mirrors to the decor. Mirrors bounce light around a room. Place the mirrors next to or directly across from light sources.
3. Install task lighting, such as desk or floor lamps in places where you read or write.
4. Switch the wattage of the bulbs in your fixtures. Check the fixtures for wattage recommendations, and do not exceed them, as this can pose a fire hazard.
5. Install a light fixture with more bulbs. Look for chandeliers or more modern-looking fixtures that are larger than what you currently have.
6. Paint the room a light, reflective color. In addition to reflecting light, paler colors make a room feel brighter and larger.
